Merry Christmas!!!!

Well, this one will probably be long because I've been slacking so much posting new pictures, etc. Our little guy is growing up SO fast! Every day with him is such a blessing; he makes us laugh ALL THE TIME! I was laying in bed last night talking to Marty and started laughing at his antics that day. He is just so full of personality!

Braden knows many animal sounds now. Everyone thinks it's funny/cute to hear him so he seems to be making animal sounds all the time. He knows the sheep, cow, duck (quite emphatic), dog, kitty cat, the rooster says "doo-oooo", he snorts for the pig (very funny), and the lion says "rrrrraaaaaa!" I'm sure there's more but you get the point. I really need to take a short video and post it for you to get the full effect. I won't make promises but will definitely try!

He climbs on EVERYTHING. He climbed on a box, to get on the trash can, to get on the counter. The higher the better! It won't be too long before we find him on top of the fridge. Scary. But we tell him to get down all the time so now he climbs up on something and looks at you and says "dow?" (for down). Yes, Braden. Get down.

We've also learned our quiet and loud voice. I would whisper to him and say "quiet," then loudly say "loud!" Now he's learned to whisper, which is really cute, then he screams to be loud. He cracks me up.

I can't remember all the new things he's doing, there are so many. I'll spare you some of the details. :-) But we've had a great month. Marty and Brian went to the annual tamale party so Beth and I took Braden and Jess to see Santa at City Hall in Brighton. They each got a stuffed animal off of the teddy bear tree. Then we went over to the petting zoo for a bit. As soon as I put Braden down a goat came over and knocked him in the face with his horns. Braden looked at that goat like, Hey! Watch it buddy! He was fine of course. We then went over to Starbucks to warm up a bit. Neither of the kids liked the hot chocolate. LOL. Although, it was barely warm. After that, we met up with Brian's mom, brother & sister-in-law and their kids and lined up on Bridge street to watch the festival of lights. They bring all kinds of people & vehicles down the street all lit up. That was okay for a little while. I eventually decided it was a bit too chilly to keep Braden out so we left a little early and went home for dinner and to warm up. All in all, it was a fun day with the kiddos.

Phyllis came out for Christmas which was nice. Braden was able to spend Christmas Eve with Grandma which was a great present for him! We had a nice dinner and opened gifts afterward. Braden really enjoyed playing with his new toys!

Marty bought Braden a Radio Flyer tricycle for Christmas. He, Marty, was so much fun to watch. He was very excited to share Christmas with his little boy. He put the tricycle together Christmas Eve after I put Braden to bed. When we got up in the morning, I held Braden's hand and walked him down the stairs. Marty was down there waiting with the camera. Braden really had his eye on that tricycle. It was heartwarming to see the joy Marty received in giving Braden a special gift. Oh, and speaking of special gifts. I had planned on buying Braden a toy box, since his collection continues to accumulate. Marty decided I wouldn't be able to find one big enough and he would have to build one. Well, I put stipulations on it. It couldn't have a lid that would slam down on Braden's fingers and I had to at least be able to paint it to make it look decent. Marty fulfilled those stipulations to say the least. He built Braden a beautiful toy box! It was FAR more than I had expected and Braden really loves it. It's big but not TOO big. It has sliding front doors that are painted with chalkboard paint so Braden can write on it some day. It has a pretty, small railing around the top and beautiful trim around the bottom. He then stained it a cherry color so it looks great in our living room. Of course I'll post pictures below! He did an awesome job! What a nice gift.

Well, I suppose that's enough chit chat. Now on with the fun stuff...............pictures!

Our monkey....climbing on anything he can

Just got a teddy bear off the teddy bear tree at the Festival of Lights

Jessica ready to see Santa

Jessica and Santa

Will you really remember my wish list?

Mom, he didn't write it down. I don't think he'll remember

Braden at the petting zoo after seeing Santa

Braden bundled up waiting for the light parade to start. Playing with his new light sword!

Braden and mom making a ginger bread house

He like playing with the sticky icing on his hands!

And eating it too!

Don't wipe that on me!

His hands got so sticky that he couldn't put the candy on the house. He tried but it was stuck to his hand; he couldn't let go!

It's about time to wash our hands before we do more

Well, if I can't put it on the house I should just eat it!

Clean hands mom! We can resume the decorating!

Braden loved UN-decorating the tree every night! He would take the ornaments off and bring them to us.

Christmas Eve. Braden in his new Cinch shirt dad bought him. What a handsome boy!

Braden in his Santa hat with Grandma

Braden excited about his new lawn mower.

Braden receiving a Christmas gift from Grandma. Notice...he'll wear his vest but you can't keep socks on the kid to save your life!

Little drummer boy

What can I say?

Santa brought Braden a new tricycle for Christmas with a LARGE stocking!

First thing Christmas morning.....Braden went straight to check out the new tricycle!

Apparently stockings make good chairs. He didn't know there were goodies in it!

Mom and Braden Christmas morning reading his new book. He's still a HUGE book lover! He'll sit on your lap and ask you to read one book after another to him. We can read 8 different books and then he'll grab them and ask you to read them again! He must get that from mom!
