Climbing Trees

Well, things have been pretty uneventful lately which is always good! Braden is seeing a new doctor at National Jewish hospital. The doctor is amazing! It took me 3 months to get him in but now that we're in, we're on our way to a much healthier future! We're trying to clear up his chronic cough and sinus infections. The doc thinks that he has viral induced asthma; meaning, if we can clear up the infection, the breathing will improve and Braden should be good to go! I hope he's right. :-) We did a "mini" immune screening last week as well as a "mini" allergy screening. They tested for 8 different types of allergies, I don't know which ones, but they were all negative which is great. We should hopefully hear back on the immune test by this Friday. Braden hasn't been coughing at all for about 3 days so I think the treatments we're doing are really helping!

I had to work on Saturday so dad and Braden had an afternoon together. They went to the fairgrounds to play at the park, run around and climb trees. Marty took a picture with his phone, it looks cute. But, I think dad is much more brave (or crazy) than I am. I would have been afraid of Braden falling out! :-) I guess that's a mom thing. Braden didn't want to leave the park and gave dad a hard time. Sounds like he really had a good time!

We also went to Bass Pro Shops. We looked at the fish, etc. Braden enjoyed "driving" the boats and the 4 wheeler.

Let's see.....Braden is learning to count. He loves 2. I say 1, he says 2, I say 2, he says 2, I say 3, he says 2. Then he'll say 4, 6, 8, 9 and 10. It's the beginning that's a rough start! Ha, ha. He has learned sing language at the daycare for "more" and "please." It's very cute.

There's much more he's learning but I just wanted to give a brief update and post a couple of pictures. I FINALLY charged up the video camera but of course need time to download the videos and post them. I'm working on it. :-)

Growing up too quick!

Just a couple of pictures I took with my phone. So no, they won't look too great but it's something to share. Braden is getting SO big! His vocabulary has just exploded as well. He's my little puppet! He can pretty much repeat whatever you say and has learned to communicate a lot. His thing right now is, "Fix it!" Whenever he had a shirt that's the sleeves were a little big, I'd grab them and try to roll them up while he tried to run away. I'd say, "I need to fix it." Well, now he understands. He holds his arm out and says "fix it." Too cute. But he brings MANY things to me to fix these days. He has also learned what "owie" means, and says "owie, hurts." Then he comes over and says, "fix it."  Often he'll imitate giving a kiss because he wants me to kiss his owie and make it better.

He now says, in a stern voice, "Bay-way!" That would be Bailey. And he knows that Bay-way is the "bad dog!" LOL. Then, in a very sweet, high pitched voice, he says slowly, Dai---sy. Hmm, not sure where he got all that from. He sure is smart though! :-)

He hugs, kisses and "feeds" his stuffed animals now. The other night he had a sippy cup with milk. He put it up to his stuffed pigs mouth and made clicking noises while he "fed" the pig. Too cute. Then, last night he tried feeding Daisy his toy bull. He didn't understand that Daisy would actually take it from him. Guess he'll get that figured out sooner rather than later.

We're learning our ABC's and counting from 1-10. As you can imagine, he doesn't know them all yet. His favorite is 2. He love to have 2 pretzels, etc. when you're giving him snacks. I can get him to say 1 but he automatically says 2, then "free", I say 4, 5 and he'll repeat 6, then I say 7, 8 and he automatically pipes up with "9, yeah" and I have to tell him yeah is after 10. Ha, ha. Then he'll repeat 10. As far as the ABC's go, He'll say A, B and C and pretty much loves to listen to you sing the song right now. He had to foam letters in his hand this morning; one a D and the other an E. I held them up and told him what letters they were and he repeated it. Put the letters down and ran off to play. About 5 minutes later, he came back, picked up the D, and said "D!" I was shocked he remembered! Anyway, it's so cool to see him learn so much so quickly. My little sponge!

Daycare is teaching him a little bit of sign language which I think is cool. He has learned the sign and says "more" at the same time. That was a quick one! Now he knows the sign for please and says it at the same time as making the sign as well. Right now, he just says thank you when we ask him to. I'm going to start teaching him the sign to go along with that. It's pretty cute.

Anyway, there's just too much to post here but I'm sure you get the gist of how quickly this little guy is growing up. He's still as happy as ever and making us laugh like crazy! You'll see some of his new antics below:

Braden is FINALLY starting to like hats. I know, wrong college but I'm just happy he'll wear a hat right now! And I thing he looks adorable with his "puppy ears"

Braden "riding" Daisy!

Braden is having WAY more fun than Daisy!

My little climber HAD to see what was on the stove! I kept telling him NO, HOT! You'll get hurt. And he'd say "owie!" Yes Braden, you'll get an owie. The stove is NO, it's hot! (Of course, nothing was close enough for him to touch but I want him to learn to just stay away from the stove for now.) I turn around and he's using Daisy as a step stool to see what's up there. What's a mom to do but take a picture?

Well, that's it for now! I hope to have some cute videos nex time!
