Circus, pumpkins and playing!

So, Marty is in Indonesia again. He left on Friday and hopes to be home Wednesday....I'm thinking it'll be Thursday! I took Braden out to dinner Friday with friends and he a cheeseburger, french fries and ice cream for dessert! Maybe it's not too bad to have dad travelling! Ha, ha. We usually don't give him much for sweets and meals consist of meat, veggies and fruit. We definitely blew that! He really enjoyed the ice cream! Saturday morning Braden and I went to a sale with Beth and Jessica. Braden got a couple more toys and some more clothes. Then we were off to the park to play! He had a great time and loves going down the slide on his stomach! We got home in time for lunch but he was too tired to eat. He took a great nap and I got to finish my huge paper that's due Tuesday. We played outside in the evening for about an hour and a half. The little guy went to sleep in about 5 minutes that night! Sunday morning we went to the pumpkin patch. Braden had a great time. We were trying to give him small pumpkins that he could carry; he didn't want anything to do with them. All he wanted were the big pumpkins, and if they were big enough to climb on and try to ride then they were even better! After we picked our pumpkins, we went to see the animals they had. He saw goats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, piglets and a calf. He thought it was fun petting the calf. All in all, we had a great weekend outdoors. The weather was absolutely beautiful so we took full advantage of it!

We went to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus last weekend with Brian, Beth and Jessica. The kids really liked it. Braden sat on my lap and ate a ton of popcorn while watching the show intently and bouncing to the music. I let the kids eat as much popcorn as they wanted....maybe against Beth's better judgement. Ha, ha. They didn't eat much for dinner! Oh well, how often do you get to pig out on popcorn at the circus? He fell asleep for about the last 1/2 hour which Marty thought was hilarious. At least our kid sleeps through anything! The pictures from the circus are on the camera Marty took to Indonesia so those will have to wait.

Let's see....Braden has 14 teeth completely in. 2 more are poking through but not all the way in. The only 4 baby teeth left will be the 2 year old molars! Whew! I'll be glad when we get through these and drooling FINALLY stops! But, I can't complain....he hasn't!

Braden's new thing is climbing on top of EVERYTHING! He has been climbing on the 4 wheeler, the rocking horse, a mega block table and basically anything he can. He stands up and looks so proud! That kid has NO fear! He's getting pretty good at listening and "getting down" when I ask him to. Hopefully we'll make it through this phase without any serious injuries!

Look at all those teeth!

I think I like this one!

I can get it mom!

Gitty-up pumpkin!

Wow! Look at all these!

August and September

So, I've obviously been terrible about posting! Marty has been travelling a lot and work/school/clinicals and Braden have been keeping me busy as usual! Here are some pictures over the last couple of months!

Braden's 1st haircut....shortly after his 1st birthday. He was such a good boy!

Braden's favorite toys the last couple of months has been any type of ball!

Braden loves to play in the tupperware cabinet!

Late September in Colorado.
Marty took a trip near Durango to work on a crane and took some fantastic pictures of the fall colors

Marty in Africa

I thought I'd better finally post some pictures from Marty's most recent trips to South Africa. He flew into Johannesburg, drove to the Medupi power plant in Lephalale (northwest of JoBurg), then back to Johannesburg, flew NE to Mozambique, and back to the airport in Johannesburg to fly home. He worked pretty hard on the first trip and did a lot of travelling and waiting the second trip. He was successful at repairing all the cranes they flew him out to do which is always good for business! He usually leaves looking like a rock star. :-)

He was able to visit an animal park near Johannesburg. He was lucky to pet some baby lions, a cheetah, and see plenty of other really cool animals up close. Below are pictures from his adventure:
