Christmas is coming!

We finally took Braden to see Santa yesterday. Kandi was out for the weekend so we made a fun trip to Bass Prop Shops. Braden has been VERY excited about Christmas this year so we're having a great time with it. We took some pictures of B with the animals, which he thought was fun, did a little shopping, wrote a letter to santa which he placed in the mail box, and then the visit with Santa. He told Santa he wants a pirate ship for Christmas. That and a hot wheels car is all he's been asking for; however, when we wrote the letter he decided to add that he wants to ride his reindeer and in his sleigh. Too cute.

Last weekend we made ornaments and Christmas wreaths. This weekend we made sugar cookies. One day this week we'll have to find time to make our gingerbread house. I wish the time didn't fly by so fast!

What's a trip to Bass Pro without the Shoot'n Gallery?

He looks pretty scared of the mountain lion huh?

Pictures? But I have to tell him what I want, mom said so!

Listening intently. It's important to pay attention to the big guy...

And a big hug!

8 Seconds?

Well, our little dare devil is at it again. Apparently climbing on things and jumping off isn't enough excitement these days. We took Braden to the Wild West Maze on Sunday. I decided to take him on Friday and looked online to see all the activities they had to offer. There's a corn maze, hay bale maze for younger kids, pumpkin corral, a train pulled by a tractor, pony rides, etc. They also happened to have Mutton Bustin'!

I asked dad about it and he said B wouldn't do it. I showed Braden a picture and asked if he wanted to ride a sheep and the answer was yes. So, I called to find out what the age limits were and found, to my surprise, there was no lower limit. So, we signed him up. Dad took him around the sheep to "pick one out" and Braden reached through the gate to show him where and how he was going to hold on tight. It took quite a while to get through all of the contestants, no nap Braden was tired, but he did a great job waiting patiently for his turn. He did a great job! As you can see from the pictures, at the beginning, one guy let the sheep go and another still had a hold of Braden. He put him back up straight pretty quickly after the picture and ran along with him until the end. By the end, the guy ended up on the other side of him and plucked B off the sheep before he tumbled. I'd say our little guy did a great job...especially when competing against 6 and 7 year olds! The top 10 contestants received prizes. He ended up taking 7th place and was proud to get a prize; however, once the ride was over all he really wanted was a snow cone that was promised.

Dad thinks that's the first step to Bull Riding. After seeing how beat up Marty's body is, I think I'll encourage some other sports. :-)

Braden and Delaney had fun with the other activities and we now have our pumpkins to carve for Halloween!

Checking out the sheep before the big event

They had a problem finding a helmet small enough. They don't usually have 3 years riding!

Dad's giving him a pep talk :-)

Is it my turn yet?

Suited up and ready to ride!
