Okay, I know, I've been terrible about posting! I promise, this will improve once we get through May. Things have been busy as usual and of course Braden has developed a lot since my last post!
We, Marty and I, just went on a fantastic fishing trip to lake El Salto in Mexico. We caught a bunch of bass which was a blast! A few were quite large. Marty won the competition with regard to the number of fish caught, but I managed to get both the smallest and the biggest! Woo-hoo! We had no phones, never turned the TV on, etc. It was truly the most relaxing vacation I've ever had which was much needed! There were 22 of us that went....friends in Colorado. It was the best group of people, we had a ton of laughs.....not to mention margaritas and cervezas! You can imagine how the flight was with 22 of us on a small plane. LOL.
Braden stayed home with his God parents, Zizz & Tish. They flew out from Chicago to stay with him which was SO nice! They had a blast spending time with Braden and B clearly had a ton of fun with them! They took him a lot of places....went to the zoo, saw friends, played outside, etc. We have some great pictures they took while they were here which I'll post. Braden was very good for them. He was a little tired on Sunday morning from all the running/playing, and was a bit crabby, so they stayed home that afternoon. B got a great nap in and woke up back to his normal, happy self! That was apparently the only hiccup the whole time! We have been blessed with a very happy, energetic, fun kid! Since they were always going somewhere and leaving, Zizz taught him a bunch of new languages to say good-bye. Ha, ha. He says Ciao, adios, au revoir, etc. It's too cute. We came back and I swear he had 20 new words in just a few days! His vocabulary is increasing by the minute and he certainly repeats EVERYTHING and remembers!
Braden is counting to 10, knows most colors (even though blue is his favorite), he knows a lot of his ABC's, and pretty much knows every animal you throw at him right now. He has a book with over 100 animals in it and he is great about naming them. He even knows the difference between a cow and a calf! I think that may have come from his dad's side. :-) Lola bought him animal flash cards which he loves to play with. I heard him saying yak one evening, and I said "what's yuck?" Turned around and he was holding the flash card with a yak on it! I had to laugh. He just absolutely amazes me...he is so smart. I know kids are like sponges but, wow! Yes, I'm the mom so I'm biased but he is definitely a smart kiddo. We are still singing songs all the time and he loves to be "interactive" with them!
I downloaded a few videos but haven't had time to post them. I'll work on it! He sure is fun to watch.
Marty left for South Africa this morning. He's going back to the power plant in Medupi to put a new, big crane together. Just getting back from Mexico on Tuesday, he wasn't ready to travel quite yet. He is scheduled to be back home next Saturday, the 16th. Hopefully he's not delayed!
Well, Grandma tells me she's always looking at the blog for new pictures so I thought I'd better make time for it! Enjoy!
