Braden's friend Jessica

Saturday, November 21

Beth (Brian, Beth & Jessica Dilsaver) invited Braden, Marty and I over for breakfast and a play date with the kids! I know I say this all the time, but it still baffles me; I can't believe how quickly these little people grow!! Braden seems to be catching up to Jessica in a hurry! As you'll see from the pictures, they're not too far off in size.

Every time Jess sees Braden she seems to stare him down. I wish I knew what they were thinking! Jessica is starting to get up on her knees with her rear in the air. :-) It won't be long before she's crawling and really getting into everything!

As time goes on, Braden & Jess seem to "notice" each other more and more. The future is going to be a blast with those two!

Ta-Da!                                                           How'd that go?

Watch this Braden....Braden....Braden! Watch this!

Braden: I wonder when the game starts
Jess: Shhhh! I'm watching this!

Braden: Will you turn the video camera off already?
Jess: Are you sure you can see my new teeth?

We now have a camcorder to record all of these precious moments as well. I'll try to find time to get some of those uploaded this week. Of course, whether or not it happens depends on Braden. It's his world now! :-) Thanksgiving pictures will be arriving shortly also.

Braden in his Halloween costume

Sunday, October 18th

We had beautiful weather today! What a great day to be outdoors taking pictures of the baby! Except, it was 80 degrees out and his costume was made for cold weather. :-) So, we put him in his "monkey suit," took a few pictures, and promptly removed the costume before he really had a meltdown! As you can see in the pictures, he wasn't too thrilled with us; however, I think he looks adorable! It'll be fun to dress him up for his first Halloween and take him to a couple of neighbors trick or treating. I'll guess we'll have to ask for tricks since he's too young for treats!

Are you serious? It's 900 degrees in this suit!!

What the heck is THAT?

I am NOT going to smile. I do NOT look cute.

We also tried out Braden's bumbo seat this weekend! He still needs help sitting up but is doing much better holding his head up so we thought we'd give the chair a shot. The dogs just LOVE having him on the floor with them!

Hmmm, can I reach the ball without falling over?

Maybe I'd have a better chance if the ball didn't roll away!

Dad and his Little Biker

Marty got the bike out yesterday to shine it up. With the paint and chrome sparkling we couldn't resist the opportunity to take pictures.

Braden looks "too cool" to just sit on the bike. Let's go for a ride dad!

Dad! Make her stop!! I'm riding up front with you!!

Back in time for a minute

I just uploaded some photos from my camera that were taken in August when we were in Nebraska. Braden and I stayed at the ranch for a week when he was a mere 4 1/2 weeks old! Boy, he has changed SO much since then!!

Even his pacifier looks huge!

Kandi teaching Braden how to play the "air" piano!

Kandi came to Colorado to visit and help out with the baby for a few days before we drove to NE together. I have to tell you, having an extra set of hands and someone willing to help with the early morning feedings was heaven! Kandi helped clean the house, which is nearly impossible to find time to do with a newborn, she cooked many meals for us, helped with feeding, allowed me to sleep in (that was awesome!) and showed Braden so much love! It was a lot of fun to watch Kandi play with Braden. We had some good laughs!

Kandi -- thanks a million for everything! You are truly a blessing! Honestly, that was the most fun I've ever had driving in NE! And I thought I didn't like crosswords!!

Braden's 3 month pictures

Well, I can't believe our baby is already 3 months old! It seemed like the pregnancy flew by and now that he's here time is going even faster! Our little guy is growing like a weed! We went to the doctor on 10/9 and he weighed 12 lb. 4 oz.; more than double his birth weight!! He's starting to grab things and is definitely "talking" a lot more. The smiles are huge and his facial expressions have also become very animated. I love to just watch him go, he makes me laugh all the time!

We have incorporated reading a book into our bedtime routine. He drinks his bottle and stares at me very intently. His curiosity makes reading to him a ton of fun! I had to go to the book store today and buy several more books for his library. I'm really looking forward to sharing more stories with him every night.

On Monday, we went and had his 3 month pictures taken. I was a little disappointed in the photographer. Initially, Braden was being quite the ham; smiling like crazy! Unfortunately the photographer missed several great shots; however, we did manage to get a few smiles and couple other cute photos. I think the 6 month pictures will be even more fun!

Are you ready to take a picture?

What do you want me to do? Smile??

Here's a smile! Aren't I cute?

Mom's little boy!

Wonder what he was thinking with that smirk....

Who do you think I look like???

The Pumpkin Patch and a Milestone

Sunday, October 4, 2009

The Pumpkin Patch
It was a sunny morning so we thought it would be a great opportunity to take Braden to the pumpkin patch; we could get pumpkins and take some cool pictures of our little boy. We had only been there a short time and the sun went away, it got chilly, and the wind came up. Have you ever tried to get a 3 month old baby to smile in the cold wind? It's nearly impossible. We'd get back in the truck to warm up and Braden was all smiles! We did manage to get a few pictures and bought 4 pumpkins to take home for carving. I'm hoping we'll have better luck getting pictures at home; however, it was fun to take our little guy out in the sea of orange for his first pumpkin! A word of caution, be prepared to get the vacuum out and change clothes when you get home! Braden had straw inside his clothes, all over his diaper, on the changing table.....

Are you serious? I'm way too cool for this..

My hands look so yummy! How about I sit here and stick my fingers in my mouth while you two pick out pumpkins?

Braden reaches a milestone
Braden and I (mom) were playing on our tummies with a new toy ball that rolls around and sings, etc. Braden has been trying real hard to roll over for quite a while now; I saw him getting to his side but couldn't quite get that leg over to get onto his back. I was taking pictures thinking it would only be another week or two and he'd be rolling. Suddenly, he's on his back laughing! Of course, I was overly excited as many moms are; laughing and clapping. Dad thinks I'm a dork. :-) I put him back on his stomach and he promptly rolled over again to his back! After 3 times I decided he'd figured it out! The only downside is I can't lay him down anywhere and walk away for a second. He's going to be mobile before we know what hits us!! I can't believe how fun it is to see your child learning and growing!

I have a new trick mom. Watch this!

I'm getting there.......

Ooooh, this is fun! Almooossssttt......

I did it! Did you see that?
